Working Down Under Temporarily
If you do not wish to settle permanently, you can apply for a temporary work permit for New Zealand. This type of visa is valid for between nine months and three years, and has several categories. Those in receipt of an offer of work can apply for an Essential Skills New Zealand work permit, which is valid for a maximum of three years, assuming your employer can show there are no suitable local candidates. Those between 20 and 35 in a skilled profession can apply for a Silver Fern Job Search Visa. Holders of this visa may remain in New Zealand for up to nine months to search for a job. Once a job offer has been obtained, the holder is then eligible to apply for a working visa of up to two years' duration.
A More Permanent Route to New Zealand Immigration
If you want a long-term work permit, you can apply for a work to residence visa valid for 30 months, and then apply for a residence visa during that time period. This type of work visa is accessible to those with a job offer from an accredited employer working to fill skills shortages, or sourcing those with exceptional arts, cultural or sporting talents. Our immigration experts are always on hand to make immigration applications quick and easy for our clients. Without professional help, immigration can be problematic, and our expertise has helped millions to emigrate since 1996.
Work on Holiday
New Zealand working holiday visas, valid for between 12 and 23 months, are available for a range of positions. Working in New Zealand can prove an enormously rewarding experience and also counts towards future visa applications. A Working Holiday Visa could be the perfect choice for anyone wishing to make the most of a gap year, or taking a little time out to gain valuable work experience. We have helped thousands arrange their working holiday visas, and our immigration experts could do the same for you.
Get Out and See the World
We all need a little adventure, and as Adam's story illustrates, there’s no better time to travel the world than when you’re young:
'My journey started just after I’d left school... after a while, I decided on New Zealand... I only had a temporary work permit for a few months, but quickly fell in love with the country and its people. I called Brighter Candidates again to see whether or not I could stay here, and they explained all of my options to me very clearly... I’m now planning on living here more permanently... a massive thank you to my Case Manager.'
Often we gain valuable experience and insights by visiting new countries where we can learn all about the different cultures of other people. Our client, Adam, didn’t know what he wanted to do after school, so decided on having an adventure instead. Here’s his story:
“My journey started just after I’d left school. I really felt like I needed to get out and start to travel the world but, at first, I had no idea what I could do to achieve it. I spent months thinking about where to move to and working hard to save up for plane tickets and, after a while, I decided on New Zealand. I thought that the weather and the landscape would be amazing and there would be so much for me to do there before I travelled elsewhere. Originally, I only had a temporary work permit for a few months but quickly fell in love with the country and its people. I called Brighter again to see whether or not I could stay here and they explained all of my options to me very clearly. Thankfully, my case was approved and I’m now planning on living here more permanently. Without the expertise of Brighter behind me, I’m not sure whether I would be here or not! All I can say is a massive thank you to my Case Manager and the rest of the team.”
